Okir: Analog 4/8/2013

Trying out my new conte crayon w/Sakura white and gray oil pastels on my new Bee “Bogus Recycled Rough Sketch” (and more importantly, brown) paper. Drawn to two tracks by Palancar (Darrell Burgan): “Hellas Planitia” and “Olympus Mons,” both named after mountains on Mars. I had a sense of waves, initially; then, especially when Olympus Mons began, the lines started to feather downward like yarn floating on a pond.

Here’s a track of Hellas Planitia on Youtube.
