Okir: Analog 4/21/2013 – Garland Park

Okir-Analog_4-21_2013_JVengua 001

Drawn while resting from a hike in Garland Park, Carmel Valley. Looking up towards Sniveley’s Ridge (Sta. Lucia Mountains). I used only a white Gelly Roll pen, and a Waterman fountain pen with blue/black ink. My impulse was to hold the pen close to the point. But instead, to prevent myself from tightening up on details, I held the pen up towards the middle, almost as if I were painting sumi-e. Gorgeous day, warm, almost hot. Not a cloud in the sky.
